Starting mid September, I will finally start my lighting video! I have four of the models picked out, videographer and outline done. I need to find about 9 more models and two more MUA’s. Every day I get more and more caught up in the various social networking programs such as facebook. On there, there are a bunch of clowns who THINK they know what makes one a model and usually I enjoy reading their comments, but for some reason, this one clown made a comment that irked me. So I’m going to blog MY opinion regarding it.
His comment was something along the lines of;
“All these girls wanting to be models. They go get their hair done, their nails done and make up. Honey, you’re getting nothing more than a senior portrait done.”
I could be way off base here, but I think most red blooded males that get into model photography, START it for the pure t&a factor. There’s a guy I know, I had to end my relationship with him because not only was he a user, but because he enjoyed a little too much, shooting nudes. I explained before how he set a model up to come to my studio and when I ended the shoot cause of her tool boyfriend, not less than three minutes of announcing that I was wrapping up the shoot, he had her nude and was firing off shots as if his life depended on his ability to shoot as many images as he can, in as little time possible. I don’t blame the guy, but I do blame his actions.
Music is the most important ingredient in a photoshoot. Sadly, it’s the most overlooked/under utilized thing in most shoots. I post the how and why I’m able to get my models to not only do anything, BUT do it and love the end results!

AMAZING video regarding models and agencies wanting things for free. I know this is a digital era and the cost is down for photos, but the cost is WAY high learning how to get your craft to a point to where it has value. Models, don’t devalue yourself by expecting things free. The way the game works is you PAY or do whatever it takes to get a free shoot with someone who is good. Take those photos and use it to get paying gigs.a
Another photo post from outdoors. This summer, I’ve spent more time outdoors than any other year. I enjoy it cause I learn something new every time. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get the hang of it, but hey, we can try, right?
Sticking with my outdoor theme, I’ve added some photos of Alex shot with a Photogenic Studio max AKB320 watt strobe with portable battery pack. I used a Photogenic 24″ silver beauty dish as modifier.
