As you have noticed, my blog and site has been down since Tuesday past. My server was hosted in NYC and as a result, Hurricane Sandy wiped out the data center. My former server company didn’t have a back up so as a result, I’ve lost the last year’s worth of blogging. Well over a year and half of updates, info, knowledge and sharing is gone. Now I can sit here and be bitter or I can move on and continue with bigger and better. I’ve chosen the latter…after doing a lot of the former. To be totally honest, I’d been contemplating what I was going to do with the site, turn it into a photo portfolio site? remove the nudes from this site all together? I’m still not entirely sure but I invite you to help me recreate the awesomeness that was this blog previously.

This is Danielle. Her late name is D so I call her (Behind her back of course) DD. She has GREEN eyes so I also call her “You’re a TIGER!” and again, behind her back.
I enjoy shooting her because she’s down for whatever. MUST love a client who has an idea and allows you to run with it. I’m posing up a few boards and a few single images.
I’m going to update again with more of her. I can’t believe this is my first time putting her on the site!

I get all kinds of comments regarding my work, the big one, is that I do a LOT of work to my images in post. Nope, sorry kids not me! I will say that I edit the photos the way I see them in my head at time of shooting, but no, I don’t spend a lot of time editing my photos. Many people talk about “Shoot it right in camera” and lots of times, that’s not possible. I don’t feel photoshop should be your crutch, but a tool to enhance what is already there. Before I share some of my RAW images, I want to talk about “Getting it right in camera” You should shoot to eliminate all bad things, but you should also shoot with post processing in mind too.

The photos of her shows my progression of a shoot. We start in clothes and move to their highest level of glamour. Poses stay pretty much the same. This is for the simple fact that mentally, he helps them relax because they KNOW the pose and if implied/nude is new to them, this will help them with any mental blocks or concerns regarding it.

Our final excerpt into the comfort lines and zones. Hosnah really rocked it by coming in using her hair as a boob cover! I love shooting with her because she’s an anchor for me. I like to ease into the implied shots, she likes to jump right in. As long as we get awesome work, who cares, right? 😉

Again, must be careful with lines, but every once in a while you’ll get a model who want’s to push those lines herself. In this case, it’s Kabuli for me. We had started talking in the Summer of ’10. She’s a Muslim and I figured she was wanting to live the American dream. Finally in the Fall, we got together. We set up the shoot in about three hours and she was out the very next day. She ACTUALLY showed up too!
